Answer two or three questions. Matches rank as you go. A festival that’s missing a fact isn’t marked down for it. It’s labelled instead.
How the count works
- Each question you answer gives every festival one mark: fits, close, miss, or not confirmed.
- A fit adds a point, close adds half, a miss takes a point off. Sound counts double because it’s why you go. Age is a gate, not a score.
- A fact we haven’t confirmed adds nothing and takes nothing. It shows as “not confirmed”. Right now 35 of 41 festivals have no crowd figure, 14 have no recorded full-event GA price, and 5 have no dates for the next edition.
- Sound is the share of the recorded lineup mix in the lanes you pick: 35% or more fits, 15% to 34% is close. The points slide with the share, so a bigger share always ranks higher: 0% takes a full point off, 15% is neutral, 35% adds half a point and 100% adds a full one. That mix is our own count of the lineup, so it moves every year.
- Festivals with no dates yet are placed by when they last ran, and marked close at best. So is a festival whose edition has already happened or was cancelled. It never counts as a fit for this year.
- A festival in a region next door to one you picked is close. Further away is a miss.
- A ticket up to 15% over your limit is close. More than that is a miss.
- For the trip, each pick our guide flags adds an equal share of one point: all of them is a fit, some is close. If the guide flags the opposite of a pick instead (nature for a city weekend, a city for out in nature, luxury for watching the wallet), that pick takes half its share off.
- Ties go to fewer misses, then the bigger share of your sound, then the soonest upcoming dates, then A to Z. There are no hidden bonuses and nothing is sponsored.
