Checked the official site, Front Gate and two 2027 trackers on 2026-10-03: no 2027 date or on-sale date is announced; the site asks fans to join the newsletter for Bass Canyon 2027 updates and Front Gate still lists only the 2026 event. The recorded launches were November 14, 2024 for 2025 and February 13, 2026 for 2026, so no narrow expected window is recorded.

The read
Our editorial read
Excision's West Coast bass festival at The Gorge in Washington: three days of dubstep and camping above the Columbia River, with three Excision sets.
The full editorial
Bass Canyon is Lost Lands' West Coast sibling, held at The Gorge Amphitheatre in central Washington, about three hours from Seattle. The amphitheatre sits on a bluff above the Columbia River, so the backdrop is a canyon and a sunset rather than a stage wall. Camping starts Wednesday and most of the crowd stays on site, which makes the weekend feel like a Pacific Northwest bass reunion instead of a city festival. The lineup is Excision plus a deep dubstep, riddim and drum & bass bill; he plays three sets across the weekend, usually a two-hour headline set, a downtempo Detox set and a B2B. Expect family-style camping at The Pivot. Attendees discussing the 2026 set times named three stages: Canyon, Hilltop and Starlight. The festival does not publish attendance. The trade-offs are real: the Gorge is remote, entry lines on Wednesday and Thursday can run many hours, wind and thunderstorms roll through in August (night two was cancelled in 2024 and 2026 saw an evacuation), and the days are hot and dusty before the nights turn cold. If you are willing to arrive early, pack for wind and heat, and keep your plans loose, this is the best-sounding weekend of the West Coast bass calendar. The view from the lawn during a sunset set is the reason people book the next year before they leave.
Go if
- West Coast bass fans who want a camping festival without flying to Ohio
- Groups who will arrive Wednesday and make the campground the base of the weekend
- People who value the venue and the sound over a packed daytime schedule
Skip if
- You want a city festival with hotels, short lines and no camping
- You cannot handle dust, heat, wind and long entry waits
- You need more than bass, riddim and drum & bass on the bill
Inside the festival
Remote, loud and scenic: a bluff above the Columbia River, a campground full of bass fans, and wind that changes the plan fast.
A Pacific Northwest bass crowd that treats the weekend as a yearly reunion; most people camp on site and many arrive on Wednesday.

Worth it for / the catch
Worth it for
- The Gorge setting and sound are hard to match
- Most of the crowd camps, so the weekend has a reunion feel
- Three Excision sets plus a deep dubstep and D&B bill
- Free showers, free day parking and amphitheatre re-entry
The catch
- Very remote: roughly 3 hours from SeaTac
- August wind and thunderstorms can cancel or interrupt nights
- Long entry waits at peak arrival times
- Upgraded camping types and VIP sell out early
