The full editorial
Beyond Wonderland at The Gorge is Insomniac's Pacific Northwest edition, held on the hillside of The Gorge Amphitheatre near George, Washington. The venue is the point: a natural amphitheatre above the Columbia River canyon, with the stage facing a wide lawn and a river-and-cliff backdrop that changes colour through the evening. The main music days are Saturday and Sunday, with the campground opening earlier and a Friday pre-party inside the venue on a separate ticket. The booking follows the SoCal Beyond format but on a smaller footprint, leaning on house, bass and trance. Camping is central rather than optional: most people stay on site, so the weekend plays as a long campout with music at the end of it. The trade-offs are real. The site is remote, roughly two and a half hours from Seattle, and campground entry can take two to three hours. Eastern Washington in late June is hot by day and cold at night, and the event runs rain or shine. There is no re-entry, the festival is cashless, and the whole site is 18-plus. It is worth it for the setting: few electronic festivals put a main stage in front of a view like this, and the crowd treats the weekend as a destination rather than a night out. The 2027 lineup was not announced at the time of writing, so the exact sound of the next edition is unknown.
